Attemped to post a FA: post here. (Ive seen a few and none of the
posters were flamed). Got a error message that only shows for about 3
seconds, to the effect of Rec.radio.scanner doesn't allow Auction
posts.

Wow. I'm impressed! Unfortunately, not all servers have that
filtering, I'm sure. And I'd bet it's not content (i.e. body of the
message) filtered. So for example, if someone put simply "Model XXX
scanner" in the body, and then (well - I guess this will be the test
huh) "I have a Model 1234 scanner for auction on ebay,

I bet the content filter will let it pass.

Too bad the content filter isn't on every server and on the body. We'd
never see another "Hello you don't know me, but I come to you with a
great financial opportunity. My family all died in a massive car
bombing, leaving me with 30 million dollars in a safety depost box..."
or
"I need to get this off my chest before I explode! My name is Stephen
Ducharme..."
