Hi Al and others. I can basically see by the responses to your post
which of the posters are Jewish and which aren't. Why don't we all just
check in, either by current religious affiliation or by the affiliation
that we most associated with as we grew up.
I'm Catholic.
How about the rest of you? It will help us all to see the logic behind
your responses.
Regardless of how many Jews died in the Holocaust, forcing people not of
Jewish heritage to constantly be reminded of how many Jews died does a
major disservice to the victims of other Holocausts before and since.
Examine the word Holocaust: For your edification, it is not a Jewish
term nor a term meant to apply exclusively to the debacle of WWII.

It is estimated that one and a half million Armenians were killed.
(ARE MEAN KNEE INS, not A MARE A CANS)
From 1932 through 1933, this man-made famine lead to the death of 5
million of the politically resistant Ukranian people.
…………………..over six million Jews were murdered.
Khmer Rouge forced civilians into labor camps working for minimum
rations. In all, over two million civilians were killed.
As a result, approximately two million non-Muslim people have been
killed by the Islamic Front.
And it goes on and on and on and on, even in modern times.

There are ample resources to research this topic online. It is truly
tragic that any nation in the world would adopt Holocaust Denial laws.
We have very little freedoms left, and those salivating in this thread
to see anyone prosecuted for his/her justified/convoluted views on the
tragedy affecting others are truly pathetic.
'In Germany,
they first came for the Communists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a
Trade Unionists.
Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me,
and no one was left to speak up.'
(attributed to Pastor Martin Niemoeller, Dachau, Germany, 1941)
Perhaps now it should read,
In America,
they first came for the Jews,
and I had to speak up since I feared prosecution,
then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn't speak up since they were not Jewish,
Then they came for the Protestants,
and I didn't speak up since they were not Jewish,
Then they came for the Trade Unionists,
and I didn't speak up since they were not Jewish,
etc, (fill in your own lines)
Of course, those of you that are Jewish will likely react vehemently,
just as so many Jewish people did concerning "The Passion of the
Christ", you remember, the movie that was going to destroy Mel Gibson,
but that did quite the opposite. I remember the spokespeople from
various Jewish groups airing their view on how awful the movie was,
though they never saw it. Even when it became evident that they (the
spokespeople and the Jewish public at large) were carrying things to a
ridiculous extreme they nevertheless continued with their tirades.
G-d bless Israel and the Jewish people, (I believe that he already has),
and may G-d bring us understanding in our interrelations with them.

You aren't free to express your thoughts - IF they don't meet the
politically correct mold - especially if your thoughts and speech
happen to deny the holocaust!
Hasn't there been one or more folks arrested in Germany for a book
they wrote in the U.S?
Well, Here's one whisked off to Germany, from Canada, so they could
face the charge of denying the holocaust!
