dear rich thank you very much for your responce
I did use a w2du inline choke thing topside I didn't choke the
dataline comming from the tuner up there , my choke place was out of
those nice snap on's i'll get them soon
i do have the smartlock 'box' down to my house so it's not just 12v
going to it however i thought the choke was (on the tuner lines) was
only if say my rf made the tuner malfuction
I ran 18g 8 conductor down (thought some extra pair might come in handy)
of which the tuner uses 4wires the unused currently is just unconn both
ends.
can those control lines somehow get my rf in them and radiate?
rich what do you think of this I left a litte too much slack up to my
at, abut say 2ft didn't know what to do w/it, afraid to make a coil
I folded it back along the coax so it's like a long skinny ovel
--could this be causing my 20m slight interference (i'll presume my 10m
interf is expected)
thanks again

many have mentioned that using my sgc237 it's better to have the rf

Hi Myles,
I didn't see that/those particular posting(s), but I cannot imagine
that being an issue.
got confused here why is that better, i mean understand many have
said it prevents the rf gnd from radiating the coax shield (bad)
Sounds like bum advice. However, to snub radiating currents on the
coax shield you use a choke. The choke can be either with ferrites or
air winding the coax itself. This was discussed previously in this
forum, consult the archive with a search against your postings:

-8
to get your bearings, and:

to perform a specific search.
I notice from another posting, you report mixed results about
interfering with TV reception. This can come from a mix of possible
problems, again, all this has been discussed in previous postings of
your threads. One thing I see missing in your description of your new
antenna is confirmation that you have also choked the control lines to
your SGC 237. If not, do it.
