It doesn't work that way.

I for example am in linear amplifiers. When I see an amp for sale at a
bargain price, I buy it in the knowledge I can resell it and not lose any
money, but I had the pleasure of using it.

What would you prefer, a few hundred dollars in bank, where once a month you
get a piece of paper telling you h\you have X saved, or would you rather
have some equipment and enjoy using it, with the knowledge that you can
always "cash in" on selling a radio and not lose any money on it?

You only live once and money is there to be spent!

seems like an awful waste of money to buy radios that you don't end up
