Ah, so you noticed this phenomenon also? Glad I am not alone.

What I find especially troubling is the lack of "focus" or criticism,
towards
truly murderous regimes. And the undeserved "friendly" approach to
the worse regime of all time - China.

I am beginning to see that it is all about money. China is a perfect
example.
When companies go global they don't give a damn about human rights,
freedoms and democracy with which they profit from. These companies,
as well as the governments that they must deal with, have an ongoing cozy
relationship in which both parties profit at the expense of the peoples
of each country.

Ex: US publishing & media companies with business interests in China whom
refuse
to publish books or air programming which do not place China under a
"favorable" light.

Ex: European satellite company which cancels contract with a media company
that
broadcasts uncensored Chinese content to the mainland because of pressure
from the Communist Party.

Ex: US hotel which refuses to honor reservations from a religious group
which
is persecuted in China while a high ranking Chinese official stays at a
hotel next
door.

And these are a drop in the bucket. I see the only recourse to this
phenomenon
is to avoid Chines products as much as possible as well as writing letters
to your
congressmen as well as the media, including the BBC as they are included in
the above examples.

The internet is also under attack on both sides
of the "Great Wall". Soon blogs will have a hard time existing because they
have "infringed" on the exclusivity the media deem is theirs in regards to
"information". This will become a dangerous socio-political situation in
the not too distant future if it is not "nipped in the bud".

I'm hearing a lot of news with a certain spin that can only come from a
genuine dislike of America. It's subtle, of course, but you have
opinionists from Radio Netherlands for example, comparing George W. Bush,
Condoleeza Rice, and Donald Rumsfeld to Hitler, Himmler, and Goebells.

They obviously cite our pre-emptive war in Iraq, and our war on terror as

a
logical means to make these comparisons, yet...

They never mention or debate the justification that the insurgency (I hate
to use that word, because a true insurgency has real numbers behind it.
What these people lack in numbers, they make up for in sheer brutality,

and
unrestrained terror.)

The way these news organizations display the situation is that everything
was just fine in Iraq, we went there, and since being there, there's been
nothing but an orgy of destruction.

There is progress being made, and we can debate the war 24/7 if it suits
someone, but the intellectual dishonesty and abusive rhetoric has the
potential to do a lot more damage to international goodwill between Europe
and the U.S. and might eventually be planting the seeds of an alliance
against us.

I'll use Europe giving the Chinese weapons and technology as an example...

Just don't think the TRUTH is being sought, is all. I reserve the right

to
be wrong, but I don't know why our credit rating is so bad with the PEOPLE
of Europe. I can only think that would happen because of a propaganda
machine.
