I have a Valor 40m and a Lakeview 20m. The 40m didn't tune up without a
base loading coil, but worked great with it. Also worth noting is that
my Lakeview flew off the back of my van at 70mph when my magnet mount
-came unglued-.. The magnet stayed on the roof while the chrome housing
and antenna took flight. I dragged it for a few hundred yards, and it's
not as pretty now, but still works fine.
