I do admit those older Corvettes are sharp looking cars and they have
great style.Back in the 1960's a used car dealer by the name of Horace
Slay on South State Street here in Jackson had a 1953 Corvette for sale
on his parking lot for $2,500.I considered buying that car too.Across
the Street was another used car dealer that had a 1939 Lincoln
Continental car for sale for about the same amount of money and I
considered buying that car too.It had a 12 cylinder engine in it and the
guy who owned the used car lot let me take it for a road test. Both of
those cars were in great condition and both of those used car lots are
still there on South State Street. The one across the street from the
other one that had the Corvette for sale has or used to have a 1960's
red Corvette mounted wayyyy up on top of a metal pole for advertising
purposes.I guess it is still there, next time I am in that part of down
town Jackson I will try to remember to check it out.
