I have not used my receiver(DAR-WS2000) for a while since I can only
point at the satellite from my garden and what with the English

weather
!!

I tried yesterday and most of the stations I could pick up are now
locked. Picked up a Worldspace station asking if I wanted to

subscribe
?

Has anyone tried to receive the US satcaster Sirius in the UK? At
least one of their sats is above the UK horizon at all times, although
the sat's antenna beam will try to avoid "wasting power" in the
direction of Europe. It would surely require a high-gain receiving
beam antenna. One would, of course have to pay for a subscription so
the experiment would best be done with equipment borrowed from the
States. That would give one the choice of over 60 channels of
commercial-free music.

XM's sats aren't above the horizon in the UK and probably have much
tighter antenna patterns.
