The long wire is usually 2 WL or more.
Hummm. Most sources I have state 1 WL as the
deciding length to be a longwire...But I agree, as
far as performance, 1 WL, ain't much of a longwire...
Even 2 WL is no big deal...You need several WL to
really brown the food to a crispness equal to any decent
yagi laying around...I've never really run a longwire...
But a friend did years ago...Was 500 ft on 10-15
meters...It's directive, but it's also a static magnet at
times...Sometimes he could draw quite large arcs to
ground...I'd probably stick in some kind of resister to bleed
