Yanno, I was wondering what goofball would hamper perfectly good engineers
with throwing throttles on perfectly working equipment--I should have known
it was some gov't bureaucracy!!! I guess those kind of idiots are plentiful
since reagan closed down the mental wards in California!

If it doesn't cover at least 25-30 Mhz (2-50 Mhz is preferable) it isn't
of any use to me! And, it isn't any problem to change most any linear to
cover those freqs.
If you end up with a piece of equip which doesn't cover those freqs any
college kid with an electronics major can do the mod for you, if you can
find no one else...(sometimes as simple as just cutting a filter out of
the circuit, input/output or both)
If all else fails, send me a scanned copy of the schematic diagram and I
will pencil in the necessary changes for you... scan it, and send the
changes back to you...
There are two kinds of people in this world:
1) Those with reasons why they can't.
2) Those who just go ahead and do it!

John

If one is smart enough to call it an "amateur amplifier" don't they let
it
be sold? Certainly every cb'er in the world is smart enough to know an
amateur linear can be used on 11 meters with very little modification...
Also, check out pages on russian linears, they have 3.5KW rigs which are
very affordable... a friend going/living in canada can possibly grab
one
for you easily too... there are many ways around any roadblock they can
throw up--retired engineers routinely build linears in their garages for
"beer money."

AKC does not allow amp autions here in this NG. This one was ratted to
ebay.
If it works outta the box from 25-34 mHz, it is illegal.
