Not meaning to sound paranoid about the politically controlled newscasts

It would be great to listen to someone who is without bias, and not trying
to achieve their own agenda...
Or are there any stations left?
Thanks.

I disagree.
First, when the UK gets a little too deep into some exercise of
imperial colonialist nostalgia, they follow the government line.
(After all, the Foreign Office pays their bills).
Second, they're too prone to go to the progaganda sections of
the US Republican Noise Machine for "balance". They'll get some
mouthpiece from Cato, American Enterprise, Heritage, etc to
"get another viewpoint". That's one of the main purposes of those
outfits, to make some ideological whack job idea seem mainstream.
They're as balanced as Radio Havana, on the other side.
My favorite is the weekly programs from Radio Australia, "Background
Briefing", "Media Report", "Law Report", "Correspondent's Report".
(They are biased a bit to the left, but then so am I). They're also
the sort of in depth investigative stuff that a US listener can only
dream about.
