He probably sold it locally and did not want to go through the trouble of
shipping. At least he sent your money back....
I have had to back out of deals before but usually it was because my
conscience would not allow me to complete the deal (like a trade that is WAY
in my favor)....
If you find a better deal he may have done you a favor without realizing
it!
