If you don't have the patience to repair your antenna, perhaps this

I have 3 antennas. They all work fine, for what they are.
My ICOM R-75 is fed by a 120' Horizontal L,
My Drake R8B is fed by a 50' Wire driving 100' of RG-8U via Palomar
''MLB-1'' UnUn.
My Drake SW2 is fed by an MFJ-1024, also through 100' of RG-8U
I can get AIR on the 2 wire antennas; I don't think I've tried on the
SW2 (my bedside radio; now that I have the BBC World Service on
satellite 24/7, I just use the SW2 for MW most of the time).
I mainly use my 2 big radios for UTEs. I like having friends, and
normal people are sort of put-off by loud flanging broadcasts from the
Azores or the Carribbean or whatever.
