Re Pastor Peters and "Christian Identity"::
http://www.equip.org/free/DI100.htm
the fact that this was heard on a Christian Identity program should
discredit it outright.
Only if you're prone to knee-jerk reactions. It's more than possible, and
I'd say very likely that Peters or his agent approached the interviewee and
represented Peters as a God-fearing, Bible-thumping Christian pastor who
also transmits on SW to spread the word throughout the nations, which of
course is just what he is in addition to the other unsavory aspects of his
beliefs, which he perhaps felt no need to convey. I'm guessing the interview
was over the phone, that the guy had never heard of Peters before, was
probably a Christian and took Peters at his word, and would probably crap
his pants if he knew just how he'd been used, and I'm not prepared to assume
that the guy being interviewed knew just who he was associating with. YMMV.
Re the Liberty:
MYTH
"During the 1967 War, Israel deliberately attacked the USS Liberty."
Well...it wasn't Costa Rican aircraft that were firing on us.
"The Israeli attack on the USS Liberty was a grievous error, largely
attributable to the fact that it occurred in the midst of the confusion
of a full-scale war in 1967. Ten official United States investigations
and three official Israeli inquiries have all conclusively established
the attack was a tragic mistake.
CYA.
snip
Numerous mistakes were made by both the United States and Israel. For
example, the Liberty was first reported - incorrectly, as it turned
out - to be cruising at 30 knots (it was later recalculated to be 28
knots). Under Israeli (and U.S.) naval doctrine at the time, a ship
proceeding at that speed was presumed to be a warship.
It -was- a warship. Ours, and clearly indentied as such.
The sea was calm
and the U.S. Navy Court of Inquiry found that the Liberty's flag was
very likely drooped and not discernible; moreover, members of the crew,
including the Captain, Commander William McGonagle, testified that the
flag was knocked down after the first or second assault."
The sea was calm, but as your URL was so quick to point out, the Liberty was
making 30 knots before the attack...and that would be while the Israeli
warplanes were making their initial identification passes over the ship.
(Thirteen in total, IIRC, over the course of several hours). -You- figure
out the discrepency there.

Oh, by all means everyone should go there.
They should also go to
http://www.ussliberty.org and compare notes between
the two. The quotes on the first page are great.
Al gave a link to a great URL, and the book is even better; it was written
by an officer who was on board the Liberty (and on the bridge) at the time
of the attack. We can take the word of author James Ennes and his fellow
shipmates who were there, or we can take the word of people who weren't.
I'll accept the testimony of American fighting men who were actually at the
scene over government representatives/apologists/spin-doctors (from -any-
government) any day. I won't take it as gospel, but given the choice....
Oh, and for the record before I forget...I'm in no way anti-semitic, and
Pastor Peters and Al Patrick are both still full of ****.
