I am listening to a few eldery Ham Operators (Kenny and Ron) in my area
on 146.760 MHz on my scanner radio. They are talking about Tropical Storm
Emily and some sort of a problem with a Pinebelt Repeter,I notice there
is some static on 146.760 MHz.What does that have to do with Shortwave
Radio? When the weather gets bad around here, there are Ham Radio
Operators talking about the weather and tornado spotters out and about
with their Ham Radios. Those weather reporters we see and hear on tv and
we hear on the news media on AM and FM radio have to report weather news
according to how fed govt wants them to report the weather news.Either
Popular Science or Popular Mechanics magazine had an article about that
a year or so ago and a few months ago,I read an article about that in
one of my computer magazines. The news media slants and twist and spins
the news according to how fed govt orders them to do so and that also
goes for the news media weather news. The best way to predict the weather
is to buy a good Barometer and learn how to use it.

Bull****. Paranoid bull****. Stuff on TV is done for RATINGS.

Always remember, news = entertainment. That's why TV weather has flashy
weather maps and live shots of the city. My local TV weather always
shows a flag waving around to show you how fast the wind is blowing. Yet
another contribution to the dumbing down of America.
