You go to one of the search engines, and you do websearches.

You go to http://www.groups.google.com and do a search on the computer,
until you find where it's been talked about, and ask there. If you
get no hits, you search for computer related newsgroups, figuring out
whether this is a buy and sell issue, a hardware issue, a laptop or
deskto****ue, or a software issue. Then you ask there.

Being lazy is no excuse for posting about computers in a newsgroup
that should not be covering anything that came after at the latest
1975 when small computers hit the market.
