I am living in the uk.
about six months ago i sold a mint condition Kenwood R5000 with the VHF
converter fitted and also the optional filters fitted i sold this on ebay
and i sold it for £380.00 uk pounds. i am now regretting selling it as i
think it out performed my new NRD545.
I sold my R5000 because when I bought a TS-430. I already had an NRD-535D.
I later sold my NRD to the person who bought my R5000 for the R5000 and
cash. I've never regreted it, the R5000 "sounds" better. I don't miss the
sync detector of the NRD because I have an additional 4kHz AM filter in it
and the R5000 is stable enough to listen to an AM broadcaster in SSB mode
which pretty much does the same thing.
