It took me 18 years to fill up my first log-book,
and in the subsequent 17-year period I have only
half-filled my 2nd, despite following all the rules
and regs to the letter as regards noting down all
CQ-calls and harmonic tests.

I think this is because the _REAL_ Radio Ham, the person
woth having a chat to, is few and far between, with the
net result that I spend more time listening than I
do TXing. Oddly, with the 2M rig left tuned to S20, it
is surprising the number of recent licensees who
act as a closed user-group, seemingly calling their
previously-10-4-buddies and no-one else.

Perhaps with the advent of the CB-style of licence (the
M3 here in Britland, probably the no-code techy in Yankland)
it is fated that I will never complete
the 2nd half of my 2nd log-book?

What are the experiences of the rest of you. Has the influx
of INCURABLE CBER's dampened your ardour?

Come on Gareth, we all have opinions on CBers, M3's, no coders and the
dumbing down of the tests. Its not going to make a jot of difference what
any of us think, the fact is its here, we've got it.
Now posting up this same sort of rant every other day is just going to make
you unpopular. Learn to live with it or find another hobby. Im sure you
have skills that you could help your local M3's with, so instead of putting
them down, try and bring them up to your standard.
