Perhaps with the advent of the CB-style of licence (the
M3 here in Britland, probably the no-code techy in Yankland)
it is fated that I will never complete
the 2nd half of my 2nd log-book?
May I remind you of your own words:
"The technical excitement motivates Radio Hams to compete
with each other to determine who has designed and manufactured
the best-quality station. This competitiveness is found in DXing,
competitions and fox-hunts."
Given that your station will no doubt be such a "best-quality station" why
don't you go in for a contest - the Worked All Europe CW is currently on -
this gives you DXing and competitions both at the same time and uses those
CW skills which you advocate. In any major contest you should be able to
easily fill your log in a weekend and get DXCC to boot.
Oh dear! Now you've done it! You are not supposed to quote his own
gospel back at him - he doesn't like it when its terms are applied to
his own behaviour.
