A bit expensive unless you buy a used one, but you might purchase the ARRL
Handbook, which contains hundreds of pages of useful information about most
aspects of ham radio. Both new and old copies of this book can be purchased
through Amazon.com.

Most libraries carry at least one copy of the ARRL Handbook, or at least
that's been my experience. It may not be the most current, but it's
within the past few years. In Orange County, Calif. they usually buy
one per year per branch, with the most current one in the reference
section and the older ones available for check-out.
