If you don't like commericals and they
irratate you, you pay to eliminate them just as in cable TV

dunno what cable system you're talking about but every one I ever had
(cut the cable a 1/2 years ago and never looked back. Sure don't miss
paying for TV) had ads up the yingyang. More than broadcast TV if it
were possible (FCC constraints being what they are. So paying for tv
to watch ads is like a double tax in my mind...

Newton B. Minnow was right back in the 50;s and his statement is still
the best description of television even today

A vast wasteland

gimme a good Ute/Mil hit on hf any day over that mindless crapola any
day!

Hi Rufus

What do you mean? Take HBO for example. The only "ads" are for their
upcoming and new shows. I don't see commercials pitching products and cars
and other bullcrap. Plus, cable standards are geared more towards adults in
most cases.

You WON'T see them on free TV.
I enjoy seeing and hearing political discussions and other programs that are
gritty and true and CAN'T be shown on national FREE T.V. Like HBO has
documentaries on true raw life scenes that free T.V reporters would never go
near let alone broadcast it.

I dunno, some people like to enjoy their lives and don't see a corporate
agenda or other personal gripes that prevent them from ordering a pay
service. I enjoy cable TV and FREE T.V. is the worst crap. To each his
own....
