Escondida, in the Northern part of the Chubut Province. The
callsign is already issued: L95WI. They have already organized
the costs and ship with the skipper to transport operators

DXpedition is now available at: http://www.ddxc.net/l95wi
Roberto, LU3CQ, will be regularly in touch with the Dynamic
DX Charterhouse in order to update any phases of the activity.
They would like to remind the IOTA Hunters that expenses for

donations would be greatly appreciated. You can send your
donation to LU3CT: Sr. DANIEL CARLOS FAIGUENBLAT,

contest. QSL via KH2X.

KH7, KURE ISLAND. Another press release (Kure-Osity #5, dated Sept 15th)
was sent out by Ward, N0AX, this past week just before leaving for Kure.
OPDX InterNet Subscribers will receive the complete press release as well
as other Kure-Osity press releases as an additional bulletin. In excerpts
from the press release Ward states, "After a lot of boat loading, box
packing, rope tying, and nautical things the words for which escape me at
the moment, the K7C expedition is ready to sail on the ebb tide this
afternoon!" The K7C team did leave that afternoon aboard the "Machias" for
their 9 day trip to Kure. Actually, Kimo Chun, KH7U, reported: "The K7C
Kure DXpedition departed from Honolulu at 6:13 p.m. Hawaiian Standard
Time (HST), Thursday, September 15, 2005 (0413z, 16 Sept 05 - UTC). All
preparations went well. They left with a rainbow in the sky at their back
and a setting sun to guide them out of Keehi Lagoon. Hopefully, the
following sea will aid in speeding them towards Kure Atoll at the Northwest
end of the Hawaiian Island chain." It has also been reported that the K7C
Expedition also wishes to dedicate the expedition to the memory of Hugh
"Cass" Cassidy, WA6AUD, whose visionary wisdom in the "West Coast DX
Bulletin" opened the door to much of DXing culture that we take for granted
today. For more information about the team's whereabouts and schedule,
stay tuned to the K7C Web site's DXA application in the "Messages" section.
They will also attempt to be active from the "Machias", most likely on 20
meters, as K7C/MM. As of Saturday, the team has not set up a radio on the
"Machias". The DXA Web page is:
http://www.cordell.org/DXA

LZ26, BULGARIA. The Balkan Contest Club, LZ1KZA (LZ5A), will be active
again as LZ26ZA between October 1-31st. The callsign LZ26ZA counts 10
points towards the "St. Teodosii Tyrnovski Award". See the following Web
page for details at: http://www.balkanclub.8m.com
QSL via the bureau or send direct to LZ1KZA: P.O. Box 36, 4300 Karlovo,
BULGARIA.

MU, GUERNSEY (Update to OPDX.726). Members of the Purple Mug Team DX Group
(PMTDXG) will activate the Island of Alderney (EU-114), the most northernly
island of the Channel Islands group, from Wednesday, October 12th, to
Wednesday, October 19th. A group of four amateur radio operators from
around the U.K. will be operational on all HF bands, 6 meters, VHF APRS,
VHF/UHF, SSB, and hopefully, some satellite activity. The team Members
announced a Carol/2E1DQZ, Russell/G5XW, Tim/M3SDE, Dave/G1OCN and
Anthony/MW0JZE. Callsigns and QSL route(s) a GU5XW via G5XW, GU1OCN
via G5XW, MW0JZE via G5XW and MU3SDE via M3SDE. For more information,
see individual callsigns on QRZ.COM. Also, visit the PMTDXG Web page at:
http://www.pmtdxgroup.co.uk
More details/updates will be sent prior to departure.

PIRATE ALERT! Edward, K2MP/W2AN, informs OPDX that an operator called
"Bill" is pirating W2AN in Europe on 160/80 meters CW. "Bill" selects
weak CW sigs and gives them the thrill of their first EU/USA QSO. Edward
states that this is a "Nasty thing to do and I have hundreds of QSL cards
from eager EU stations seeking their first DX QSL. Spread the word that
W2AN does not work DX on 80 and 160."

QSL INFO AND NEWS............................
Andy, VE9DX, reports that all CY9SS logs have now been uploaded to LoTW
during the afternoon of September 12th - all 38,500 + contacts. The
paper QSLs are now being printed and should be available in a few weeks.
You can view the photo QSL (front) at:
http://ve9dx.weblink.nbtel.net/cy9ss/cy9ss.html

INTERESTING LOTW NOTE. Brian, K3KO, recently announced that he downloaded
a file containing all callsigns listed in the "Logbook of The World"
(LOTW), and ran it through WIN-EQF to find out the number of countries
that were available and missing in the LoTW. There are 273 countries
presently within the LoTW. The following countries are not available:
1A, 3CO, 3D2/C, 3D2/F, 3XA, 3Y/B, 3Y/P, 4U1UN, 5A, 5N, 7O, 7P, 7X, 9J,
9Q, 9U, C31, C9, E3, EK, EP, EZ, FO/M, FR/G, FR/T, HK0/MALPELLO, HV, J5,
KH5, KH5K, KH7K, KP1, KP5, OD, PY0T, R1F, R1M, ST, SU, T9, TL, TN, TT,
VK0/M, VK9L, VP8/SG, VP8/SO, VP8/SS, VU4, VU7, XF4, YK, Z3, ZK1/NC, ZK3,
ZL8, ZL9 and ZS/MARION
Brian states, "The completeness and accuracy of the above list is
dependentent upon the input file completeness and the accuracy of WIN-EQF
in detecting the correct country from the call." If you take a brief look
at the list above, less than 50% of them have had some DXpeditions to
them (some quite old). It would be nice if some of them would at least
upload their logs to LoTW.

S7, SEYCHELLES (Rare IOTA Op). Members of the Russian Robinson Club are
proud to announce a DXpedition to Aldabra (AF-025) and Farquhar (AF-035)
Islands scheduled for late September and early October. Their tentative
schedule (and callsigns) is:
S79RRC/A - Aldabra Island, September 30th-October 2nd
S79RRC/F - Farquhar Island, October 5-7th
The team will be: Sergey/RA3NAN (S79NAN), Eugene/RZ3EC (S79EC) and
Andy/RZ3EM (S79RRC). They are expected to dedicate 3 days of operation
to each island. For more details and updates, visit the Web page at:
http://www.qso.ru/s79rrc

SILENT KEY. It is with great sadness to report the passing of Hugh "Cass"
A. Cassidy, WA6AUD, on September 9th at the age of 88 years. Many will
remember Cass for his "DX IS" articles/stories he wrote for "The West
Coast DX Bulletin". Cass was the editor for eleven years, and some of
his "DX IS" stories are available on the K2CD Web site at:
http://www.geocities.com/k2cddx/index.html
OPDX and its readers would like to send out our deepest sympathy to the
family and friends of Cass.

SV9, CRETE. Ron, WB2GAI, will be operating from here, September 26th to
November 10th. Activity will be on 80-10 meters CW using a Force 12
vertical dipoles. Please QSL via the bureau.

T8, PALAU. John/WB6Z (T88US) and some JA operators will be active and
celebrate the 11th anniversary of this country's "Independence Day",
between 1300z, September 28th and 1300z, October 2nd. They are now applying
to the PTT for extra permission and a special station callsign T80Z.
Activity will mainly be on SSB on 80-6 meters and VoIP (Echolink,
WIRES?!!!!). QSL via WB6Z: P.O. Box 746, Mercer Island, WA 98040 U.S.A.
(w/SASE or SAE+IRC to PO Box address only). No via BUREAU QSLS (it takes
forever :-) ).

V26, ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA. Bud, AA3B, informs OPDX that he will be active
as V26K between November 23-28th. Activity will include an entry in the
CQ WW CW Contest as a Single-Operator/All-Band/Low-Power category. Outside
of the contest, he will be active on CW only. QSL via AA3B.

V3, BELIZE. A team will activate V31MD for CQ WW SSB Contest (October
29-30th), the first all software defined radio DXpedition. The team,
consisting of Rob/V31MD, Terry/AB5K, Eric/AA4SW, Gary/W5ZL and Larry/WO0Z,
will also operate as V31LL, V31TG, V31ZL, and V31SD before and after the
contest on all HF bands and modes with their SDR 1000s. QSL as per the
operator's instructions. ADDED INFORMATION: V31MD's QSL route is the same
as always. The other individual callsigns used by the team members will
be handled by the individuals ("hence QSL as the operator's instructions").
Dates outside the contest will vary by the participating member's arrival
and will be informal. Many team members will operate between October
25-31st. V31MD will be used exclusively in the contest, of course.

VA3, CANADA (New CIsA Op!). Operators Bob/VA3QV/VA3RCS and Martin/VA3SIE
will be cycling into Maple Island (CIsA ON-NEW!!, not IOTA). They plan to
activate the island for the Canadian Islands Award Program on September
25th. They will be operating QRP with an FT-817 and Elecraft KX-1
transceivers, battery powered. Activity will be on 80/40/30/20/6/2 meters.
Further information and a detailed times/frequencies schedule can be
found on their Web site at: http://www.sunim.plus.com/maple/index.html

VP5, TURKS AND CAICOS. Gail, K2RED, will be active as VP5RED during the
CQ Worldwide DX RTTY Contest (September 24-25th). Operation class is
TBD - LP. Look for some SSB/RTTY operations as VP5/K2RED prior to contest.
QSL via K2RED.
