Very eloquently put! Your use of the word "stuff" indicates your mastery of
the English language. What the Hell does advancement of equipment have to do
with distracted driving laws anyway?

Ya'...cell phones are so advanced so Sally can call Bambie and tell her
about the new shoes she just bought at 50% off. All this while zooming along
at 65 mph. Let the cell tower go out and see if she can complete her
conversation about the matching handbag. I suppose that she could take a
picture of herself to see if her makeup is smudged, while the cell tower is
off-line (and stuff).

Sounds like a good law. Why should Ham VHF handheld gear be any
different than cell phone stuff. Same thing distracting the driver. I
guess the big difference is that the newer cell phones are years more
advanced than the Ham stuff.
