CB is cool, I had some great contacts using CB locally, and some good DX.
You do not need a license (here), just an approved set.
The frequency 27MHz is cool too, at night locally, in the afternoon here
sometimes the world.
You are allowed to use AM FM SSB and FM packet.....
Nobody uses CW, so no need to learn that :-)

The antennas are just about at the length where a 5/8 wave vertical is doable...
Perfect band, resonable size capacitors, inductors make these any time
with 20 turns or so... Not difficult for power transistors.... so from
an electronic point of view easy to do, easy to get equipment too.
Whats your problem with CB? You PAYED for that license? LOL
