Most logging companies today would take trees in such a way as to let
the remaining trees have room to grow, so they can come back in a dozen
years and harvest again.
Actually they scream rape when told to do that -- they'd rther
clearcut, re-seed and move on. They constantly bitch about the cost of
low-impact logging like removal by helicopter. All they want is huge
gravel roads fed from the side by skid roads.
