Speaking of rules, some of those FCC actions included a discussion
of the "export" radios. It said the OET has a list of 10 meter
radios that are actually CB transceivers as this "feature" can
be added/restored with a jumper or wire. They now claim these
radios are illegal to use in the USA. I would assume if you are
an amateur with a valid General class ticket with an unmodified
2950, you would be OK. If you're caught with the jumpers moved,
you're in deep doo doo. Bottom line, an "export" or 10 meter CB
is not legal to use, period.

Reality - If you're not bothering anyone and staying on regular
channels, no one will notice or bother you. If you run a clipped
radio into a class C splatterbox at maximum deadkey, you get
what you deserve!

Now go talk on a radio somewhere, dammit! It takes the same kind
of person to sit behind a mike and talk to strangers whether it's
on Part 95 or Part 97. White, black, male, female. Same thing...
