Sony 2010 for utilities?

The radio is certainly stable and sensitive enough to work non-voice
utilities. The only shortcomings will be:
1. Filters are wide so close strong signals may clobber the one you
are trying to decode.
2. Tuning is limited to 100hz resolution, so there may be some
situations where finer tuning would bring a signal in. Much of the
time I think you will find 100hz resolution will work.
It isn't the best radio for UTE dxing, but it will work. A much better
choice for about the same money on the used market would be a Kenwood
R-5000 with 10hz resolution.
