Does the 1101 use 3 batteries or 4?

I solved - or at least minimized the impact of the 1103 tending to go
through batteries.

I've found a wallwart charger and two sets of NIMH batteries to be a
flexible solution. I can get about 2.5 weeks of listening about 1-2
hours a day from a charge.
