Have you ever wondered how to make a "Ø" instead of a plain "0" on your
computer? Here's how: Hold down the ALT key, and using the numbers on the
RIGHT of your keyboard, type 0216 then release the ALT key. Pretty cool
eh?
PS: You might have to press the 'num lock' key first.
Unfortunately that is not a zero with a slash through it but a capital
letter O with a slash through it. For visual purposes it works but for
sorting data, it will not sort as a zero.

Also, the character only looks like a slashed "O" in *some* ISO 8859
character sets. Eastern and Central Europeans would see that as "R"
with a caron, and other parts of the world would see it rendered in
yet other ways. It is better to encode it as a true zero and to
instead choose a font which displays zero in the way you find most
pleasing. People posting to Usenet should always keep in mind that
Usenet is an international medium.
K1MAN would never use a slashed capital O in place of a zero, because
K1MAN is a citizen of the world and K1MAN is a great man.
