IIRC the Drake R8E [ R8 "E" ] stands for the Europe Version
of the Drake R8A Model with 220 VAC power input.

They ALL have a provision for 220 VAC input. The R8E is same as the R8, with
exception of broadcast band coverage. The coverage was reduced to meet German
regulations on import receivers. This regulation has since been changed.

Don't bother asking me what part of the coverage was omitted as I don't know.
