Went to a Rite Aid drug store today to get the last of our meds before
our
new and deproved insurance plan takes effect.

My wife pointed out a "Fixit Tools" "up to 1,000,000 candle power"
rechargeable
hand help spot light. Originally ~$50 and reduced to $9.99. I bought 2
not expecting
too much. Charged them for the 6 hours since we got home and they are
fairly bright.

They have a halegon bulb and a 6V 4Amp/Hr gell cell.
Included is a dinky and very RF nasty, wall wart, and a fused male
cigerette lighter
cord to allow charging in an automobile. Please note the charger is a
18 ohm ~25W
resistor in series with the +12 input so you can fry a battery if you
leave on charge
"forever"

At this price they are worth buying for the battery alone.

Two in series will give you 12V at 4A/HR which will run a SW or
scanner, or even a
lap top for over an hour.

If you have a DX398 then a single 6V battery will provide power for
many hours.
