The subject says it all - I have a CDE Ham-IV control head that is
acting up and I recall web page that contains tips on how to trouble
shoot.

Mine light up and the indicator falls to the right side. If I mess with
the brake control it sometimes comes back to live. BTW, It still turns
the beam even thought the indicator is stuck in the South position.

Anyone have the URL on the tip sheet?

Dick,

Just a guess, but if I remember correctly, the CDE rotors'
meters just measure the voltage across a 500 ohm potentiometer. What
I would do is to disconnect the meter from the rotor and measure the
resistance across the pot and swing arm. Then connect again and move
it, say, 90 degrees or so, then measure again. If you don't get a
reading under 500 ohms and/or it doesn't change, you have a problem in
the rotor. If it reads ok and changes, then the problem is likely in
the control.
