Atlanta, GA: Epoch Times Chief Technical Officer Beaten By Communist In His
Own Home

Around noon on Feb. 8 two armed men forced themselves into the Atlanta home
of Epoch Times lead information technology specialist Mr. Yuan P. Li,
beating him and stealing two of his laptops. After Mr. Li managed to free
himself from the extension cord used to bind him, he was taken to an area
hospital for treatment. This crime, occurring in a very safe area in Atlanta
and done without concern for the taking of valuables, appears to break new
ground in the Chinese Communist regime's campaign against The Epoch Times.

Chinese Newspaper Editor Beaten to Death in Police Custody

Wu Xianghu, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Taizhou Evening News, recently
suffered serious injuries while in police custody. Mr. Wu had been arrested
for publishing an investigative article on arbitrary ticketing practices by
the police. Thursday morning, February 2, Mr. Wu failed to respond to
medical treatment and died of his injuries. He was 42 years old.

Human Rights Attorney Gao Zhisheng Asked to Leave China by Secret Police

Sound of Hope reporters Qin Yue and Li Min reported that famous human rights
attorney Gao Zhisheng ended his two-day-long hunger strike. Right after he
stopped fasting, he received a cell phone message from the secret police,
trying to persuade him to leave China. When Gao ended his two-day fast for
human rights, his relatives and friends from his hometown were all very
worried about his safety. They urged him not to continue to confront the
CCP.
