Default some help needed with Miami Police frequencies

Hi again,

Now I am even more confused. I look up the autoritative radio
reference and I found out that according to
http://www.radioreference.com/module...=TRSDB&sid=208 Miami
Police does not use TYPE I or TYPE II Motorola, but *EDACS*?!?!

Which website should I trust?!

Radioreference says that:

-----
"Dade County actually has 3 separate systems in use for countywide
communications --

1. A 6 site 20 channel simulcast EDACS system for all public safety
operations.

2. A 6 site 20 channel simulcast EDACS system for all county services.

3. A single site 5 channel EDACS system for the Miccusukee Indian
Police, remote operations and aircraft operations.
This site is located at the Miccusukee Indian Reservation about 25
miles west in the Everglades.

4. A single site 5 channel EDACS system mounted on a remote trailer for
special operations and special events.

All Dade County public safety operations except the fire department
uses these systems.
A couple of Police Talkgroups are in AEGIS Digital mode or Encrypted.

Does this mean that I should enter only the "public safety" frequencies
to hear the police? Since I am not from the USA am not sure if police
and "public safety" are the same thing or not. If not, which
frequencies do the cops (Miami Police & Sheriff) use?

Again - many thanks for any pointers!
