Default Abbreviating U.K. addresses?

Are you limited to only four lines, including the name? That seems

It's homebrew & could take a surprising amount of time to calculate just
what I need to feed to PostScript to get any additional lines to go
where they need to!

The envelope printing routines in my (not-homebrew) word-processor
software can't seem to figure out where the envelope actually is in the
printer!

Anyway, our mail service is not too worried about which line things
appear on. And some years ago they announced that the county would no
longer be necessary in addresses, so you can quite safely omit the
word "Surrey".

Excellent, appreciated! (I suppose the county is implict in the
postcode. Here in the States the Zip code could in theory replace the
city and state, but even the additional four digits won't specify a
particular address within that Zip. I have heard a tale of a QSL card
being addressed simply "W6XYZ, USA" - and being successfully delivered.)
