Old computer power supplies might have toroids.

I guess this is a function of where you live. I can go to at least 3
stores and get ferrite cores off the shelf.

can this kind of material be used for building a balun/unun ? It is a tube of
ferrite instead of a toroid, so the windings might be a bit different...
