Buying a Sony ICF SW7600GR radio from a seller on Ebay in the US.
I did a bad deal on ebay, but took my whoopin' like a man, or maybe a
wuss. Basically, if you agree to the deal, you do it, even if you screw
up. In my case, it was some used electronics gear that I thought was a
slightly different model (same manufacturer). It was my fault, and thus
I was obligated to finish the transaction.
However, I have been screwed by jerks selling gear that wasn't
functioning well. The worse is some asshole who is "selling the item
for a friend." Now I email every seller to see if they actually have
seen the gear do what they claim it does, not what somebody told them
it does. I've managed to get my money back, but lost on shipping in one
case.
The good news is there are asshole buyers out there too. I've talked to
sellers at local flea markets that have stopped selling on ebay since
some ebay buyer would break the gear then demand a refund, or steal
items out of the unit (say a module "option" on HP test gear), then say
the unit is defective.
You can generally get better deals if you do them face to face.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us, even though you've had to

Ha ha ha ha
Well John, I can't say that I didn't know it as coming.
Really ,, I
told my story because I am so ****ed at myself that I can hardly see
straight and
putting things on paper helps get rid of the anger. I can lose a few bucks
but I'll
be damned if it's going to drive me to a heart attack. (O:
I wish I could blame the seller but he was just another greedy little man
who set up
his site to snare the unsuspecting, and he caught me. All our politicians
seem to be
crooks and the Enron guys are crooks. Our country was run by crooks for
13 years and
your country went to war with a nation based on lies. I can hardly blame
one little
Ebay seller for the "moral decay" of the our society!
Cheers

Well Yes!! If you know about them, and their prices are competitive,
sure!
Why not? I
also found an Ebay seller from Canada selling the radio which would
allow
me to avoid
all the importation BS and I think I could pick it up right at his
home,
but I did
not see that until after I had committed to buying from the first
seller.
As I said earlier, I simply bid in to much haste and have only myself
to
blame.

Why not buy from Universal radio or any other radio store that sells
