Default E1 vs Sat800 review...

I've wondered at what sort of involvement Drake had in the E1. Size
issues aside, the many similarities between the Sat 800 and the SW8 are
so undeniable; there's little doubt that Drake technology went into the
Sat 800. Such similarities, however, do not extend to any such degree
with the E1, although the sync detector on the E1 is about as good as
I've encountered. Larry Van Horn wrote in his E1 review for Monitoring
Times that "a call to Walter Hess, the technical support manager at
Eton, confirmed that Drake did have a major hand in the electronics of
this unit."

I was unaware that 'Drake engineered' the E1. Is this true or is Phil
losing all objectivity here (we know it's a Sat800 respin)?
