Bob,
If your willing to experiment a little,
Antenna Compendium 3 has estimates for a log periodic loop array.
I have never heard of one being built. W1NMZ said that he had modelled
one and it performed similar to prediction with the exception that I had
overestimate the gain over a traditional log periodic dipole array.
One design detail that I have not figured out is the spacing of the feed
between adjacent loops.
With respect to dimension, if I recall correctly, the overall length was
about 36 feet and the widest element, the reflector, was about 24 feet.
This would result in a turning radius of about 30 feet.
If you decide to try out the LPLA, let me know. I am very curious to
see if the design works. I would be glad to assist you.
Good luck,
Duane Allen
