David,

What one does for a Commercial Antenna Structure
does not preclude taking a few simple and practical
measures (low cost) to help protect your Radios and
Equipment by Amateurs and Shortwave Listeners
(SWLs).

Maybe we need a List of the Ten 'simple-and-practical'
Things that Amateurs and Shortwave Listeners (SWLs)
can do to help protect their Radios and Equipment

Each Item must Cost under $25

Each Item must Take less than 2-Hours to do.

Here's one that costs nothing. Unplug your **** when you're not using
it. Don't use it during thunderstorms.

Always use grounded autotransformers on LF/MF/HF transmission lines.
Grounding blocks on the VHF. Unplug everything you hold dear when a
storm approaches. Phone. 'puter. Stereo. TV. Radios. Blender.
etc.
