I found two webpages dealing with getting baseband
audio from pin 9 of IC mc3361. One instructs you to
put a small capacitor in series with the lead coming
from pin 9 and the chassis connector, and the other
instructs you to put a resistor in series and put a
capacitor across the chassis adapter lugs.
Which method is correct, or can you do either of
these?
If you use the resistor/capacitor method, don't change the values -
the components constitute an audio filter, and you don't want to
filter out those frequencies you're putting in the tap in order to
get.
If you just use a capacitor, almost any small one (but not too small)
will do, since it just isolates the scanner from the external circuit.
