Thanks for the super advice. The transformer died after some "fizzing",
and now one half of the primary is O/C.

I have an old HP/Paeco transformer which has several 6.3V taps, and a
5V tap for a 5U4. However, the HV secondary is for a B+ of 440V ... too
high (the SX-42 needs 250VDC). So I don't think I can make that work
easily.
