Yes, I was watching an old episode if the Andy Griffith show and if
you've ever watched it you know that there's some radio gear on top of
the desk next to Sheriff Taylor's, right where Barney Fife normally
sits. One of them looks sort of like a Drake R-4C, but the particular
episode I watched didn't offer a good shot.
Does anyone know what this gear is?
And by the way, what a classic show! Still in wide syndication forty
years after it aired. Compare it to the crap that's aired nowadays and
it really makes you think.
I recall that the radios were used as a prop and a character used it in
one or two episodes. You should get a bette look at it then. Could be a
false memory though.
I have not owned a TV since around 1980 but I have been rethinking that
as there are news channels and Discovery, History channels that I have
watched when visiting relatives.
The sitcoms and weekly TV shows are awful and I can't spending time
watching them.
I use television for 3 basic functions, news, some sports and all the movie
channels cable has to offer. I love movies, but I will not go to a movie
theater. I have a fine movie collection, and I do enjoy football season.
So, I have a couple of nice TV's, other than that, regular broadcast TV is
not worth watching, IMO.
My computer has a DVD player and a big LCD display so that is what I use
to watch movie rentals or I go to the theater.
I have a DSL connection here and have been considering cable for a
broadband connection instead. I could add a TV video card and the
computer could also be the TV. Actually I have two LCD displays so I
could have the TV displayed on one and work on the other.
