the ramsey is crystal fixed with tv colorburst crystal at about 3300 hz
or 3.3 khz and uses an mx com chip...the ctp ds49 descrambler is fully
adjustable and the pilot tone of the speech inversion can be changed
from 2.4 to 4.8 khz...keep in mind that you will encounter many
inversion points like old 46 mhz cordless phones at 3.333 khz and
3.75khz as well as police at 3.5khz, 3107Hz, 3333Hz, 3500Hz, 3729Hz,
2632Hz, 3023Hz, 2868Hz and 2728Hz (model #NC802) from
http://www.norcommcorp.com/2805-scrambler.htm, just do a search for
speech inversion applications and youll see all different tones...heres
some...VPU-11 Maxon, Speech Inversion Scrambler (default frequency 3676
Hz), you can even listen to samples on transcrypts page
--http://www.transcrypt.com/link.sp?page=Audio_Samples ,the ctp lets
you adjust the tone to decode a wide variety of inversion points for
like marine at 156 mhz that use analog voice inversion...whats more
important is that now the frs radios that use speech inversion at 462
mhz have selectable scramble tones so you have to have the ctp unit to
listen...motorola makes a frs radio that has 3 tones to choose from and
kenwood makes another...you can also listen to usb (upper side band)
communications on shortwave and aviation radios that dont have a bfo
(beat frequency oscillator) pitch control with the ctp unit thanks to
its ability to tune pilot tones around and above 4 khz (4000 hz). matt
bias is the guy who builds these and he still makes them...his phone is
304-525-1761 and his cell is (304) 633-7738 and there in huntington,
wv...email to
also...ctp descramblers...517 lower
terrace huntington, wv 25705...they take checks and money orders too...
