beginner questions about SWL distance and QSL's

How far away can I expect to receive with the DE1103?
Pretty far. Where are you located? From the eastern US, you can easily
hear Radio Australia on 9,580 kHz early in the morning.
Generally, you'll get strong signals at night on the lower freqs. Tune
5.7 to 6.1 MHz. In the daytime, the higher frequencies propagate
better, e.g., 15.0 to 15.6. MHz.
