If anyone really wants to use Morse Code, can't they still ? To me it's
like requiring a sixteen year old to learn French s, or requiring the
metric system be used exclusively. If someone said you had to only read
with your left eye, or eat only potatoes on Tuesday, would that be a bad
thing s ? If you really have to use Morse Code, or you really enjoy
using morse code, then by all means do so, but why burden someone else
with it if they only really want to talk to someone with their voice ?
Or perhaps we should mandate that only vacuum tubes be used in
amplifiers, or only ether be used for anesthesia in hospitals. I feel
like we have too many people dictating to others. Soon we will only have
digital tv to watch, another dictate. When it is all said and done, the
world is not going to end if amateur radio dies, any more than if morse
code disappears, vacuum tubes disappear, or television disappears
replaced by mental telepathy.

I'll bet you'll sing a different song when your phone don't work, no
internet and there's no power, like after a wide spread natural disaster.
You'll be thankful there are hams then.

but he will more thankful if those hams can talk to each other at long
distance than if they can't

I push for hams to be effective in those situations. Everyone else wants
hams to be like CB'ers. Not me.

no you want to eleimate 75 percent of the ARS in 10 year

that is the fact of the matter
