He may have given his callsign twice (if it is his callsign) but he never
replied with his name
or answered the question, is it a 4AT or an O4AT.
Makes me wonder how hard a 2AT / 4AT is to operate.
It is a joke to work it.
Wonder why he never replied to the group with those answers?
Now, either he is not a ham and just a troll trying up be a smart ass wondering
how many folks can help him with
this simplest of radios or he really does not understand the concept of radios
at all. Does he have a problem
with his AM broadcast radio also??
Also, a Freshly minted ham who just received his ticked a few short weeks ago
should be able to tell me when he got
his ticket.
After detailed explanation of how to "tune" the frequency (2 times) he still
asks the
same question. My guess is he is not a ham.
P.S. of course I looked him up.

If he has set the PL tone, in all likelyhood he has the 04AT. That is,
unless the 4AT has an add-on CTCSS board. Possible, but not likely. If you
can find a manual for the 02AT, the operation should be pretty much the
same. There's not much on the 'net about the 02AT either, according to
Google. You might have to try one of the online sources that sells manuals,
such as http://www.w7fg.com/ .

BTW, he gave his callsign twice, once on the original post and once in
reply. Try checking QRZ if you want his name and license date (29 Aug
2003). Freshly minted ham, as it were. Welcome, Will!

Hi, still did not get your name or the date you got your license.
It is on the ticket. What color paper was your license printed on,
Blue or green??
The 4at has volume, squelch on top.
Also, set the numbers on top to the frequency you want.
On the back set the offset, plus or minus or center for simplex.
That's it.
Have fun...

Hi, Are you talking about a IC-4AT or an IC-04AT?
If your talking about a 4AT, it's pretty easy.
I had one of those a while back.
Great radio, can't kill them!!
Tuning? Just use the thumbwheel on top to set the frequency.
If I remember correctly the transmit offset is on the back, plus,

minus or
simplex.

I have an Icom IC-4AT, but no manual for it. I can set the PL tones,
but am having difficulty with other aspects of operation, such as
tuning. Anyone have any hints for me?

Also, does anyone have a list of specs or something? There isn't a

lot
about this radio on google...
