Mark Ramsey, president of Hear2.0, the audio entertainment strategy
company, and Mercury Radio Research, is very critical of the evolution
of HD/IBOC:
Hear 2.0 is basically a one man consultancy. Mercury is a good research
company, but among the smaller ones. I know nobody who has used it.
In other words, consider that consultants who do blogs are selling
something.
David,
You are spewing the bull**** again, here is his background and
companies:
Hear2.0 is the very first audio entertainment strategy company. It is
the sister company to Mercury Radio Research, a leading provider of
strategic research services to the radio industry.
You are reading right from Mr Ramsey's website.
Hear 2.0 is a brand new company, and there is not much that indicates it has
any customers. It is part of a blog, for gawd's sake, not an enterprise.
Mark'sw radio research company does perceptual and music testing, just like
a couple of dozen other companies do. It is not the largest, like Coleman,
Critical Mass Media, Broadcast Architecture, Paragon, etc. It is not the
smallest, but is at the small side. It is hardly a trendsetter.
Heck, I have done projects for Susquehanna, Infinity, and a bunch of similar
companies in the US... and for some that are even bigger outside the US. I
could write about the same thing as what follows:
MARK RAMSEY, PRESIDENT
As head of one of the radio industry's leading research companies,
Mercury Radio Research. Mark Ramsey has been a key strategic advisor to
many broadcasters nationwide, including CBS Radio, Entravision
Communications, Saga Communications, Susquehanna Radio, Corus
Entertainment, and many others. Ramsey has published articles in all
the major radio trade publications and is a recognized radio futurist.
Mark is a good researcher. I admire a lot of what he has done. However, he
is off base on the HD thing and, as I have cited, is actually wrong on some
key facts... probably because he has not spent enough time reviewing the
history of broadcasting. He is a smart guy, and I doubt he would like you
using out of context his opinions.
YOU are off base on HD/IBOC, oh retarded one.
