I just tried, and the radio won't power up off of the supplied power
supply at all...also, when I put a charged battery on the radio, it
reads an extremely low voltage on the internal voltmeter, and the
radio acts like it's going dead (backlight won't turn off, only low
power TX)...so it is very possible a risistor got hit....I didn't see
any fuses...but I didn't take the radio all the way apart

Another test would be to take the battery out, and power the radio
from the supplied wall cube. If it operates/ powers up, then most of
the circuit is working.. if not then there is probably a fuse or
resistor used as a fuse blown.

Yaesu does offer an external drop-in charger for this radio, should
you wish to purchase one.
