Thanks for the info Bob.
The guys I listen to the most are in the midwest. I am in central KY
near Lexington.
You Left coast guys come in abit later & I am doing other things most
of the time that late in the evening. I have heard KI6GU however.

Ace is correct. Art's call was/is W6OBB.
He used the phonetics - old broken bottles
but was referred to as - outrageous babbling bull****
due to the nature of his radio show's guests.
Last time I heard him on
3840 he was using an Icom 7800. I really like the auto CW id he used.
That's a CommSpec ID-8 http://www.com-spec.com/id8test.htm
Sadly he had a falling out with the group on 3840 before he went to the
Philippines & would not use that freq.
His big ego arrogance clashed with other big ego types that hang out there
but couldn't match his capital outlay for broadcast quality audio
processing equipment for their own amateur staions, jealousy perhaps.
Also I should note there is a group of guys that use 3840 in the early
evenings....2300 UTC +-
Sometimes as early as 19:00 UTC (elevenish PDT)
.... that are a hoot to listen to.Some of them have been or still are in
the Radio Broadcasting buisness.
You're probably thinking of Jim Watkins (KI6GU) who has quite a resume of
affiliation with commercial radio broadcasting. Also uses the same IDer
Art Bell used.
